Purpose
Assisting and supporting the Income Processing team on globally held assets, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

- Drive and enhance a customer‑focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Ensure operational efficiency of the Income Processing is maintained at a high level in accordance with approved policy and procedures by organising, prioritising, and supervising workflows, deploying staff accordingly, monitoring work in progress, providing direction / follow‑up as required, checking/authorising various components of income transactions as assigned, monitoring outstanding payments due from depositories/issuers/financial institutions.
- Assist in the implementation of new processes/systems as required; identify challenges and pursue opportunities to improve processing efficiency; solve problems of an unusual nature including identifying the root cause and determining what is required to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all business lines, Scotia Capital Inc., Wealth Management; (ScotiaMcLeod / Scotia ITRADE; Scotia Trust & Custody Services and Prime Brokerage Services by ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and timely; respond promptly, accurately, and professionally to inquiries from internal/external customers; provide technical expertise and specialised assistance relative to Income Processing.
- Effectively assist in developing the team by ensuring a high degree of productivity and providing ongoing monthly coaching feedback and ensuring appropriate training/cross‑training is provided as required and/or available; assist with the preparation of performance appraisals.
- Assist with managing related risk and minimise losses by reviewing and signing off the team’s work; ensuring effective procedural and management controls are followed; enforce escalation procedures for potential losses; challenge/review existing procedures to ensure adequate controls are implemented.
- Provide ongoing assistance to the department manager by reviewing and ensuring the control accounts are updated and/or cleared daily to avoid outstanding items from becoming aged; train and cross‑train other team members when required; provide support with each other’s functions, volumes and projects, and perform any ad‑hoc functions/sundry duties.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
- Create an environment in which your team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
- Build a high‑performance environment and assist with implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment and deploying a coaching mindset and behaviours, communicating vision/values/business strategy.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 3‑5 years post‑graduate experience in industry or academia in capital markets, finance and banking and/or process improvement, business analysis and solution implementation.
- Strong knowledge/experience in banking/capital markets operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate, influence and interact professionally with a diverse group of Front Office Users, QAs, Developers, and SMEs.
- Proficient with data and high attention to detail.
- Strong technical abilities including knowledge of basic software engineering principles (experience in SQL, VBA, Access, Excel preferred) and a sound understanding of operational processes.
- Strong knowledge of related processing systems related to entitlement activity which includes various Broadridge products including ADP, Gloss, IMPACT, DTC, and/or depository exposure to CDS, Clearstream, BNP, Citi, HSBC.
Work Arrangement
- Work in a standard office‑based environment; non‑standard hours are a common occurrence.
- Work volumes are subject to market volatility and can therefore swing to the extreme; pressure situations are frequent and market dependent.
- The department is subject to a very high rate of change based on market conditions. Change regularly outpaces Asset Servicing ability to define policies, procedures, and systems in support of the high degree of change. Ongoing integration of Prime Brokerage operations also creates pressure situations. This role needs to manage these demands to ensure all client’s needs are met.
