The Town of Canmore is hiring a casual Assistant Lifeguard to support pool safety and guest services at Elevation Place Aquatics Centre. Under National Lifeguards, you will assist with supervision, first aid, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
Preferred candidates are at least 15 years old, hold Bronze Cross and Intermediate First Aid & CPR C, and enjoy engaging with the community while learning to become a certified lifeguard.

The Assistant Lifeguard supports the safety supervision function and provision of services at the Town of Canmore’s Aquatics Centre at Elevation Place. As a junior member of the Aquatics team, and under the guidance of our certified National Lifeguards, the Assistant Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and sanitary environment. In addition to providing safety supervision of the pools, you will provide emergency support to the lifeguards and instructors, provide exceptional customer service, participate in team training sessions, and ensure the ongoing cleanliness and maintenance of our excellent facilities. This is a great position for someone who is looking to make a positive contribution to their community, learn about the aquatics industry, and build skills to become a fully certified lifeguard!

This is an ongoing part time no benefit position targeted to start Sept 19th , 2026. The number of hours worked will vary week to week, depending on your availability and shifts available. Successful applicants will be expected to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. The pay rate for this position is $18.98.
