Job description

As the Assistant Laundry Manager your care and attention to detail in our laundry operation will ensure exceptional standards for our hotel lines - you will take pride in the role you play facilitating a memorable guest stay.

What you will be doing:
  • Reporting to the Laundry Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :
  • Consistently offers professional engaging and friendly service
  • Follow departmentalpolicies procedures and service standards
  • Ensure the upkeep of all Laundry / Valet areas in respect to complete care cleanliness and maintenance
  • Train and supervise all employees within Laundry / Valet department
  • Work with employees on a daily basis to upgrade skills and decision making
  • Monitor health and safety regulations and W.H.I.M.S. training
  • Active supporter of hotel committees
  • Ensure all equipment within the department is maintained and is in good working order
  • General office administration which includes town contracts payroll scheduling ordering supplies and inventory control
  • Performance evaluation of all Laundry / Valet colleagues
  • Conduct and follow up on monthly communication meetings
  • Ensure all areas of food & beverage housekeeping and linen closets are stocked and maintained
  • Ensure guest requests are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Assume the operations in the absence of the Laundry Manager
  • Adhere to the hotels vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guests vehicles
  • Follow policies procedures and service standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Laundry experiences an asset
  • Valid Alberta drivers license required ability to drive standard vehicle an asset
  • Able to work flexible hours over a 24-hour period
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions
  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisor
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
Additional Information:

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
