Job summary

Farm Boy is seeking a hands‑on supervisor to collaborate with the Department Manager, delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence in a fast‑paced grocery environment. You will coach the team, lead training, and help achieve department goals while maintaining store standards.

The role supports scheduling, inventory control, and payroll tasks, with a focus on safety, quality, and a positive customer experience. English fluency is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post‑secondary program with an emphasis in business.
• Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Through collaborative leadership, hands‑on coaching, and daily team engagement, you’ll help build a high‑performing department where team members feel supported and customers feel welcomed. • Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Work closely with the Department Manager to execute departmental strategies and achieve stated goals and performance objectives.
• Support team development through training, coaching, motivation, and recognition while maintaining a high level of trust, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Lead regular team huddles to share goals, recognize achievements, exchange product knowledge, and provide meaningful feedback to build engagement and connection.
• Support daily operations by ensuring outstanding customer service, accurate merchandising and rotation, adequate staffing coverage, and consistent department cleanliness.
• Provide office and administrative support, including inventory management, ordering, invoicing, schedule maintenance, and payroll functions.
• Promote compliance with all Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and provincial regulations to maintain a safe and high‑quality shopping environment.
• Contribute to store success by assisting with other related duties as required.

• Completion of a post‑secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills supported by a clear, professional communication style.
• Comfort learning and using manual and automated systems, with prior experience working with a variety of computer software programs.
• Thrive in a hands‑on setting that involves extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
