Essentials Duties
Customer Satisfaction
  • Greets customers upon entry and thanks them upon exit, offering assistance and recommendations.
  • Provides prompt, courteous service and resolves customer issues professionally.
  • Rings up sales accurately on cash register, handling money, checks and other payments.
  • Operates fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions and related equipment.
  • Assists in resolving routine customer concerns within guidelines.
  • Arrives on time and follows dress and appearance code.
Facility Condition
  • Maintains awareness of store facility’s condition and reports equipment failures or maintenance needs.
  • Performs or directs general housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, dusting, windows, counters, displays, bathrooms, trash disposal.
  • Cleans and checks equipment such as coffee machines, refrigeration units, and other tools.
Merchandising
  • Ensures product areas are stocked, rotated and displayed for freshness and accessibility.
  • Prepares or assists with inventory orders.
  • Applies price changes, signage and advertising in accordance with company or brand guidelines.
Sales Controls

Ensures all shift sales are completed per company policies and that employees enter transactions correctly, place payments and give proper change.

Financial Controls
  • Maintains accurate cash, sales, payroll and inventory records; accounts for variances.
  • Prepares daily bookkeeping, invoicing and gasoline data.
  • Completes daily banking, troubleshoots close‑out and shift sales analysis.
  • Finalizes, transmits and processes weekly time, attendance and payroll records.
  • Notifies manager of sales, cash, inventory or operating discrepancies.
  • Follows brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
Staffing Controls
  • Supervises store employees and assumes Manager duties when necessary.
  • Schedules employees within guidelines to maximize service and maintain store image.
  • Performs, trains, and evaluates all duties of Customer Service Representative and Lead CSR positions.
  • Assists with employee counseling and performance feedback.
  • Implements non‑discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, mentoring, and separation.
Security Controls
  • Reports incidents, injuries, theft, property damage or sanitation issues to manager.
  • Alerts manager to any unsafe, unlawful or unethical conduct.
Administrative Controls
  • Prepares periodic sales, product and operating reports as directed by manager.
  • Attends job‑related meetings and works irregular hours as required.
  • Controls merchandise, cash shortages and other selling expenses.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels and shift audits.
  • Completes shift change duties such as cash drawer counting and shift reports.
  • Provides regular, predictable onsite attendance.
  • Performs duties with minimal supervision.
  • Completes daily store reports and assignments.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months to 1 year of retail and management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles including planning, organization and leadership skills.
  • Clear, understandable communication skills.
  • Ability to handle customer issues using standard procedures.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Proficiency with cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers and related equipment.
  • Ability to perform all essential duties.
  • Ability to work within the described physical and work conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation required.
  • Flexibility to work opposite shifts of the Store Manager.
  • Open availability across shift schedules.
Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to temperature extremes and occasional work in walk‑in coolers or freezers.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead; up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
  • Hand‑tasking requiring reaching, grasping and manipulating objects throughout shift.
  • Push/pull up to 20 pounds using hand‑truck.
  • Overhead reach, bending, twisting at waist.
  • Oral communication ability.
  • Operation of cash register and computer keyboard.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push and pull.
  • Work alone when required.
  • Occasional noise exposure.
  • Stand or walk for entire shift.
  • Climbing ladder may be required for material retrieval or sign placement.
Work Environment
  • Approximately 95% of work is indoors; occasional cleaning of parking lots, gas pumps and garbage removal.
  • Exposure to extreme cold while working occasionally in walk‑in cooler or freezer.
  • Exposure to occasional noise.
  • Minimum direction with periodic supervision.
