Job summary

Upper Canada Child Care in Alliston is seeking an Assistant Educator to join our team at St. Paul CS. The role is full-time supply with split shifts in before and after school programs or full days Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience with developmentally appropriate, play-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Education requirements and program statements.
• Engage with children and provide a positive learning experience.
• Foster ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children.
• Complete program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks.
• Use Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.
• Collaborate with team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to support all children.
• Provide guidance to students and volunteers as needed.

We are currently recruiting a Assistant Educator to join our Team in Alliston at the following location: St. Paul CS.

This position is to fill an existing vacancy.

Pay Range:

Assistant Educator $20.60 - $23.54/hour (includes General Operating Grant) plus Wage Enhancement Grant (up to $2.00/hr) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr).

*Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.

Position Type & Required Availability:

• Full-time Supply Position (25-40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a split-shift (morning and afternoon) in our Before & After School programs or a full day (8-hour shift) Monday-Friday to be considered.

Position Summary:

To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate, play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Applies current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Care’s program statement.
• Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc.
• Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children.
• Completes program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks as required.
• Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.
• Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.
• Provides guidance to students and volunteers as needed.
