A public school division in Kamloops is seeking an Assistant Director, Budget to collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer in managing the School Division's budget. Responsibilities include formulating the annual budget, analyzing proposals, and developing projections to enhance strategic decision-making. The Assistant Director of Budget collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer to manage and oversee all aspects of the School Division's budgetary process, assist in the preparation and development of annual and long‑term budgets, work closely with all department budget holders to conduct and evaluate budget proposals ensuring alignment with the division’s strategic plan, monitor and track expenditures to ensure adherence to established guidelines, develop budgetary forecasts to guide strategic decision‑making, foster a collaborative work environment by actively engaging with the budget team, and provide support and identify opportunities for process improvement within the budgetary process.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Public Administration.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Public Administration.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of extensive mid‑to‑upper level management experience administering governmental budgets.
Administrative experience and familiarity with the operations and procedures of a Pre‑K‑12 public school division or educational setting.
Certification and License: Industry‑related certifications and association memberships are preferred.
