Independent Grocers Alliance in Canada is seeking an Assistant Department Manager to lead daily operations in the store and support the department manager.

You will mentor team members, provide constructive feedback, and help achieve objectives while ensuring exceptional customer service. Training programs are available to develop skills and advance your career within the company. Evening shifts apply and reliability is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in retail or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in participating in training courses.
• Motivation to learn about department management.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day management activities within your department in collaboration with the department manager.
• Provide team members with feedback for their professional development and achievement of objectives.
• Collaborate with production and customer service clerks; ensure exceptional customer service.
• Manage inventories, price lists, marketing and salary productivity to ensure business readiness.

What might a typical day look like?
As an assistant department manager, you will have to :

• perform day-to-day management activities within your department in collaboration with the department manager;
• provide team members with the feedback necessary for their professional development and the achievement of established objectives;
• collaborate with the production and customer service clerks; - Ensure the implementation of exceptional customer service
• in collaboration with the manager, ensure the management of inventories, price lists, marketing and salary productivity according to established standards in order to ensure business readiness;
