Job Description:

The Municipality of Souris-Glenwood is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO). This is a full-time position with duties commencing as soon as possible.

Located at the junction of Highways 2 and 250, just 50 km southwest of Brandon, Souris-Glenwood is a vibrant, full-service community offering education, healthcare, and recreational amenities in a safe, family-friendly environment. Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the ACAO supports day-to-day municipal operations and provides guidance and oversight when required. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating financial processes and ensuring accuracy in payroll and benefits
  • Maintaining water utility records and property tax accounts
  • Preparing agendas and minutes; attending council meetings when required
  • Applying for grants and supporting program implementation approved by Council
  • Offering direction and advice to administrative and management teams in the absence of the CAO
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong financial and accounting knowledge, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a municipal office or equivalent
  • CMMA designation or equivalent, or willingness to enroll in the program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work independently
