Job summary

Vancouver Whitecaps FC seeks an Assistant Athletic Therapist to support day-to-day sports medicine operations and safeguard players’ health and performance in a professional soccer setting.

Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist, the role delivers injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation while collaborating with the Medical Staff. This is a full-time maternity leave coverage with MLS NEXT Pro duties and potential future assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Master’s degree in a health-related field is preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer/Therapist.
• Soccer experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive healthcare support to players, including first aid and on-site injury assessment.
• Maintain accurate player health, medical and participation records in EMR.
• Order and manage clinical supplies and equipment for day-to-day operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional athletic training room environment.
• Support the Medical Staff in promoting players' health and safety.
• Ensure compliance with MLS NEXT Pro medical policies and safety standards.
• Adhere to bloodborne pathogen and occupational health requirements.
• Attend league-required activities and medical initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
