Job description
Overview

The Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre invite applications for an academic Infectious Diseases position. This position is eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a Clinician Teacher (CT) appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The expected start date is July 1, 2026, or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise in the assessment and management of Infectious Diseases.
  • Join the Division of Infectious Diseases at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, providing inpatient consultation services for complex patient populations across medical, surgical, oncology, and trauma/critical care services.
  • Cover approximately 12-16 weeks per year of inpatient ID service, at least one half-day per week for general ID clinic and Complex OutPatient Antibiotic Treatment (COPAT) clinic, and opportunities to run additional longitudinal clinics including ID, COPAT and HIV.
Qualifications
  • MD degree and postgraduate certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or international equivalent.
  • Eligible for licensure to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Remuneration and Benefits

Estimated annual remuneration will be in the range of $300,000-$350,000 (fee-for-service estimate) commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, experience, and patient volume. Eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association for clinical billings and benefits. Eligible to participate in the department’s group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans.
