Job summary

Ovintiv Inc. is seeking an Artificial Lift Technician to support Canadian assets. You will optimize artificial lift systems, perform complex well interventions, and restore production on a rotating field schedule from Grande Prairie or Dawson Creek. Strong safety discipline and teamwork are essential.

You will work with OCC, engineering, and operators to deploy new technology, train staff, and track performance while maintaining daily communication through RADR and Teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of artificial lift or well intervention experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety requirements and practices.
• General knowledge of oil and gas production operations.
• Proficiency with computers and applications.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work a standard field rotational schedule.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote safety practices in all field activities.
• Perform well interventions including N2 kick-arounds, blowdowns, hot oil jobs, sand solve, plunger retrieval, and Frac Comms recovery.
• Optimize artificial lift and gas lift performance.
• Install new plunger start-ups, inspect plungers, and monitor system performance.
• Arrival sensor troubleshooting, servicing, and maintenance.
• Provide artificial lift training to field operators as needed.
• Communicate job status and updates through RADR, Cygnet notes and Teams.
• Collaborate with cross-shift teams, OCC, engineering and field operators.

This is a production role responsible for specialized artificial lift optimization, well intervention, and production restoration work that falls outside the scope of routine field operations. The successful candidate will report to the Canadian Optimization Coordinator, working alongside a team of COA Lift Techs on a standard field rotational schedule. This role can be based out of Dawson Creek or Grande Prairie.The Artificial Lift Technician's primary focus is optimizing artificial lift performance and supporting complex well interventions across the COA. We are looking for someone who demonstrates safe decision making, integrity, and sound judgment; works well independently and across shifts; embraces change and new technology; and strengthens any team they join.
