Job Description and Responsibilities

Join Interpro Pipe & Steels Red Deer team as an Area Supervisor where you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing our manufacturing operations. This position is essential for ensuring that our production processes run smoothly and efficiently, contributing directly to our company’s commitment to quality and innovation. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including engineering, maintenance, and safety personnel, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

  • Drive results by optimizing operations to increase productivity and improve Yield and First Pass Yield
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the safety, health, environmental and quality programs
  • Plan, align and direct daily production activities to ensure daily production requirements are met or exceeded and conformance with the monthly shipping plan is assured
  • Tend to safety of employees, conduct monthly safety meetings
  • Work with operators and stakeholders to effectively solve problems
  • Provide or arrange training for employees to meet the standards of the job they are performing
  • Support all company and regulatory requirements
  • Effectively report mechanical/electrical concerns immediately and contribute to failure analysis
  • Engage employees in continuous improvement to identify and eliminate waste
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in a related field; candidates with an engineering degree preferred or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years industrial operations experience; experience in operating steel/pipe facilities preferred
  • Previous experience leading a team and overseeing work preferred
  • Demonstrated business operations and process improvement experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and safety standards
  • Must be able to work night‑shift schedule (12‑hr shift)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to motivate team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
