Job summary

Hydro One invites applications for a College Co-Op Student - Area Distribution Engineering Technician (4 months) in Haldimand, Ontario. This hands-on term lets you assist with investigations, staking, and field data collection while you complete engineering coursework.

You will prepare sketches for crossings, process permits, estimate work, and gain exposure to Hydro One networks, with mentorship and development opportunities during the winter 2027 term.

Qualifications

• Discipline: Students enrolled in Electrical or Civil Engineering Tech Programs, minimum 1st year.
• Valid and current G2 class driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Engineering Investigations for new customer connections and upgrades.
• Prepare sketches and associated details for water, rail and pipeline crossings.
• Prepare and process billing authorization and permits; carry out staking activities.
• Prepare and report job estimates including instructions and activities based on field observations.
• Carry out routine meter changes and readings.
• Provide field data for engineering studies.
