Overview

Our Design team is growing here at rcs construction. We are on the lookout for an Architectural Drafter to join our team based in our Bedford office. Are you seeking to gain experience in a fun, collaborative and fast paced organization, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! As an integral part of our Design Team, the Architectural Drafter will support the Design Lead by preparing precise technical drawings, interior documentation, and exterior site planning layouts. With a focus on producing skilled and detail‑oriented drafting work, the Architectural Drafter will transform design concepts into coordinated, construction‑ready documents that align with project specifications, codes, and overall design intent.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare architectural drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Develop interior design drawings such as space planning, furniture layouts, reflected ceiling plans, finishes, and millwork details.
  • Produce exterior site plans, including building layouts, parking, walkways, landscaping coordination, and site relationships.
  • Translate design concepts, sketches, and redlines into precise construction documents.
  • Coordinate drawings with consultants (structural, MEP, landscape, civil) as required.
  • Revise drawings based on client feedback, code requirements, and permit review comments.
  • Maintain organized and accurate drawing sets throughout all project phases.
  • Actively contribute ideas and suggestions to the design team.

Required:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup
  • Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards and construction documentation
  • Experience with interior design layouts and detailing
  • Experience with site planning and exterior layout drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, and design documents
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, and accessibility codes
  • Highly motivated person with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with little supervision

Preferred:

  • Minimum requirement of a Diploma in Architectural Drafting or a related field
  • 2+ years of professional drafting experience working under an interior designer or architect
  • Familiarity with building codes and basic zoning/site requirements
