Job Description

AECOMBuildings + PlacesArchitecturalteam is seeking anArchitectural Design Graduateto join ourteam in Pickering, ON.

AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Assignments may include, although not limited to: Water facilities, Industrial, Transit and Government projects.

This is a newly created position expected to begin either in January or May 2027.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed technical drawings to effectively communicate building designs to clients, and contractors.
  • Produce architectural designs and drawings in REVIT.
  • Utilize your knowledge of building technology, assembly, construction methodology, to ensure technical excellence in all projects.
  • Apply architectural concepts, building code, and zoning requirements to develop architectural design documents to the satisfaction of the client(s).
  • Prepare and review working drawings, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, including the Ontario Building Code.
  • Make sure REVIT and BIM requirements, standards and quality are followed.
  • Develop photo realistic renderings, animated walkthroughs, and comprehensive 3D models is an asset
  • Successfully accomplish assigned work within the agreed-upon deadline and budget.
  • Support project teams, including architects, engineers, and other consultants, on project coordination, as required deliver comprehensive and cohesive project documentation.
  • Participate in contract administration and shop drawing review processes, contributing to the alignment with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Maintain project documentation and organization of project files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Contribute to design discussions by formulating and presenting design decisions effectively.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technical innovations, incorporating new ideas, models and technologies into projects.
Qualifications
  • Candidate must have completed or will be completing a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Technologist Diploma/Certificate in Architectural Technology

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Revit, Photoshop, Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint,Enscape, and Bluebeam
  • Experience with Parametric Modelling, Rhino, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Hand sketching
  • Ability to work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary in-house consultant team
  • Thorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailing
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Demonstrated strong creativity in design
  • Ability to work with various Canadian municipalities for permitting and development approvals process
  • Strong conceptual and technical design skills
  • Exceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the Ontario Building Code
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
  • Candidate must be a team player dedicated to working hard with an all-hands-on-deck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accurately.
