Job summary

Pasqal in Sherbrooke, Canada, is hiring a Quantum Error Correction researcher within the Hardware department. You will develop and benchmark error-correcting codes and protocols for Pasqal neutral-atom QPUs, aiming for fault-tolerant operation and scalable architectures.

The role involves building decoders, refining logical error models, collaborating with theory and experiments, and communicating results in reports and at conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant QC.
• Strong knowledge of QEC codes, decoding methods, and fault-tolerant protocols.
• Experience with neutral-atom platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Select, adapt, and benchmark QEC codes and protocols.
• Develop decoding approaches and assess QEC performance.
• Create logical error models and budgets from data and simulations.
• Design and benchmark fault-tolerant logical operations.
• Provide QEC-driven inputs to future QPU architectures.
• Develop and maintain QEC simulation tools.
• Write technical reports and scientific articles.
• Contribute to IP and represent Pasqal at conferences.
