Job description

Formations Inc. is a privately owned wholesale distributor and manufacturer of non-structural wood products and accessories serving the woodworking community, designers and architects. With operations in distribution and door manufacturing, Formations is recognized for its commitment to quality, reliability and exceptional customer service.

Are you a recent interior design grad who loves influencing design decisions and connecting creative ideas with real-world materials? We’re looking for a curious, confident and design-savvy professional to join our team as an Architect & Design (A&D) Representative.

If you love design storytelling and inspiring others to see what’s possible, this role is your chance to turn that passion into influence. As an Architect & Design Representative, you’ll be the creative bridge between design and distribution—building relationships, sharing knowledge, and most importantly driving specifications of our products on active and upcoming projects.

Location

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

What You’ll be Doing

Delivering engaging Lunch & Learns, CEU sessions and product presentations that make an impact and position our materials as the preferred choice for specs.

Building strong relationships with architects, designers, builders and contractors by being a confident, knowledgeable and memorable presence.

Translating technical product info into clear, inspiring presentations that connect directly to project needs.

Staying current on design trends and sustainability standards like LEED and Greenguard so you can speak with authority during presentations and firm visits.

Representing Formations at design events and trade shows with poise and energy, becoming the person firms look forward to seeing.

Actively tracking firms’ opportunities and specifications in the CRM to support follow-up and ensure our products are captured in project documents.

Supporting Territory Sales Managers and Branch Managers by influencing early‑stage design decisions that lead to successful specs.

Maintaining designer libraries and samples so your in‑studio presentations always look polished, current, and professional.

What You Bring
  • A recent graduate in Interior Design, Architecture or a related program.
  • A passion for design storytelling and helping others visualize what’s possible, with the ability to speak the language of designers and architects.
  • A natural presenter comfortable leading Lunch & Learns, CEUs and product demos with confidence and personality.
  • A clear understanding of the specification process and how materials influence project outcomes.
  • Strong project‑management skills that help you stay ahead of timelines, track details and manage multiple firms and opportunities at once.
  • A collaborative mindset working closely with Territory Sales Managers and Branch Managers to support and secure product specifications.
  • Solid organizational habits and consistent follow-through using CRM tools and presentation platforms.
  • Tech‑savvy with an eye for visual storytelling and clean, compelling presentations.
Must have
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle— you’ll be on the road up to 50% of the time connecting with design studios and project sites.
You embody Formations' core values in how you work
  • Accountability – You show up ready to deliver, take ownership of your results and follow through on commitments. You approach challenges with tenacity, learn from experience and set a high standard for reliability and performance.
  • Communication – You listen actively, ask questions and promote open dialogue that builds trust and supports collaboration across teams.
  • Innovation – You show resourcefulness by finding creative, practical and efficient ways to improve work processes, enhance safety and deliver quality.
  • Respect – You treat others with fairness, empathy and professionalism. You contribute to a safe, inclusive workplace where everyone feels heard and valued, recognizing that respect builds the foundation of our culture and reflects strong citizenship.
  • Team – You support others through challenges, celebrate collective success and put the team’s progress ahead of individual gain.
Why Join Us
  • Be part of a forward‑thinking company committed to growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Access opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organization.
  • Receive a competitive compensation package with eligibility for the Short‑Term Incentive Plan (STIP).
  • Enjoy 100% company‑sponsored health and dental benefits and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Experience recognition programs that celebrate team loyalty, demonstration of core values and contributions.
  • Flexible benefits program tailored to your needs, including Health Spending Account (HSA), Personal Spending Account (PSA) and RRSP contribution.

If you are eager to learn and want to grow within the design industry, we’d love to hear from you! As part of our selection process shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a TRAITS Assessment. Participation in this assessment is mandatory to be considered for the role.
