Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader in Ottawa, ON to supervise a tree care crew and perform arboriculture tasks safely and efficiently. You will help develop teammates and elevate performance within the office.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of climbing and lift experience, a valid license, and a collaborative attitude. This regular full-time role emphasizes safety, training, and client relations at Bartlett.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tree climbing and aerial lift experience in tree care.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR; Class B CDL preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented.
• Safety-conscious with strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture.
• Pruning, cabling and bracing, rigging, removals.
• Maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Lead and manage crews while delivering tree care services.
• Build relationships with clients and answer questions.

Responsibilities

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in:

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including:

  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  
  
  
  


• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site


• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager


• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment


• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards


• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients

Qualifications

• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors


• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry


• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (Class B CDL preferred)


• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions


• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
