Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Burnaby, BC is seeking an Arborist Climber to join a safety‑driven tree care crew. You will climb trees and assist Arborist Crew Leaders with residential and commercial pruning, removal, and maintenance tasks on a variety of properties.

The role emphasizes safety, proper knot techniques, equipment inspection, and communication within the team. Travel within Metro Vancouver may be required; salary is $36.60 per hour; this is a full‑time position with benefits provided by

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of climbing experience with arborist climbing system and bucket operation in tree care.
• Proficient in English language.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties as directed by the crew leader.
• Adhere to safety rules, perform risk assessments, and maintain equipment.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping and parking as required.
• Participate in safety training and wear issued PPE.
• Maintain assigned gear and equipment and communicate with the crew leader.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor or local manager.

As an Arborist Climber, you will be an integral member of a tree care crew with the primary responsibility of tree climbing and assisting Arborist Crew Leaders in performing all tree and shrub care services on residential and commercial properties.

Pay Rate $36.60/hr Permanent Full Time

Responsibilities

• Perform all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader
• Demonstrate high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper application of approved knots, proper climbing techniques and procedures, proper pruning and small removal skills, and proper rigging skills
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping and parking duties as required
• Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies and participate in safety training sessions
• Maintain assigned company gear and equipment
• Demonstrate strong communication skills with crew members and crew leader
• Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader or designated supervisor, Arborist Representative, or Local Manager

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience climbing with arborist approved climbing system and bucket operation in the tree care industry.
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
• Secondary school required
• Formal training or qualifications in chainsaw maintenance and cutting, aerial cutting using chainsaw and felling and processing trees required
• Degree or Diploma in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in English language
