Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Toronto is seeking an Aquatics team member for Lifeguard and Swim Instructor roles at Cooper Koo Family YMCA Health & Fitness Centre in Toronto. The positions are hourly contract with shifts including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Start date is December 14, 2026; deadline to apply is November 29, 2026 at 5PM. Responsibilities include delivering YMCA swim lessons, maintaining safety, and supporting program delivery while complying with all certifications and regulatory

Qualifications

Current NL, Standard First Aid & CPR C certifications.
YMCA Swim Instructor certification is required.
Experience instructing swim lessons is an asset.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to inclusivity and safety in programs.
Flexibility for weekday afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety and lifeguard procedures; respond to emergencies per Lifesaving Society/YMCA.
Deliver swim content and examinations per YMCA curriculum.
Develop weekly lesson plans and adapt to participants' needs.
Maintain accurate progress records and attendance; report malfunctions.
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to offer additional YMCA programs.
Support general YMCA duties and participate in events.
