Job summary

The City of Markham offers Lifeguard opportunities across its recreational facilities. These temporary roles provide flexible schedules, enabling you to contribute to safe, enjoyable swimming experiences close to home.

You’ll help monitor pools, support patrons, and work as part of a dynamic team. Applicants must be at least 15 years old and hold current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard, Standard First Aid or Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED, and Airway Management certifications.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certifications required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and encourage pool users to swim safely.
• Observe pool area and enforce pool rules.
• Ensure correct patron-to-lifeguard ratios.
• Apply basic life support and first aid as needed.
• Perform pool deck setup and cleaning.
