Job summary

Trinity Consultants Canada is seeking an Aquatic Scientist to join our Water & Ecology team in a hybrid role based out of Whitehorse.

You will work with experienced professionals to deliver water resources, hydrogeology, aquatic sciences projects across Canada, with mentorship and opportunities for leadership. The role emphasizes scientific excellence, collaboration, and ethical practice in environmental consulting.

Qualifications

• Professional Biologist designation (R.P.Bio.), Environmental Professional (EP), or equivalent designation.
• 3–5 years of relevant field experience, including baseline assessments.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis.
• Experience in the mining sector is an asset.
• Experience designing and implementing baseline assessment programs, including sampling stations.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly in writing and speaking.
• Strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the planning and implementation of water monitoring and aquatic assessment projects; primarily in the Yukon, with potential across Canada.
• Participating in and leading water quality monitoring and aquatic resource field studies and organizing field equipment.
• Conducting assessments focused on fish habitat, fish communities and health, integrating geomorphology, limnology, hydrology and related data.
• Conducting water sampling programs across surface water, groundwater, and hydrological monitoring.
• Managing data contributing to / leading report development.
• Contributing expertise to large multi-disciplinary projects with senior staff, clients, regulators, and partners.
• Representing Trinity Consultants Canada - Water & Ecology in the scientific community through deliverables and conferences.
