Job summary

City of Markham is seeking an Aquafit Instructor to plan, organize, and lead Aqua fitness classes for diverse ages and abilities. The role includes supervising participants, adjusting content to fitness levels, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment within City facilities.

Successful candidates will train as needed, participate in staff meetings, and ensure clear communication of program changes and events to participants.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 years at start of employment.
• Must demonstrate safety awareness and the ability to coach diverse adult learners.
• Certifications required or to be renewed during term as noted in posting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Aqua fitness classes for different ages and abilities.
• Adapt content to group abilities and ensure participant safety.
• Complete administrative duties and communicate program changes.
• Assist training and supervision of participants and coordinate with staff.
