Qualifications

  • 6+ years of manual machining for Machinist IV.

The responsibilities of the role include :
  • Utilizing skills and aptitudes to support a variety of production needs.
  • Machining products to tight tolerances in non‑manufacturing environment.
  • Working independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality.
  • Computing and verifying dimensions to ensure accuracy.
  • Observing all applicable safety practices and immediately reporting any unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Model behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices.
The requirements for an ideal candidate include :
  • The ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints.
  • The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Winnipeg only :

Successful completion of TOWES (Test of Workplace Essential Skills) which will be facilitated and paid for by StandardAero (Red Seal Journeypersons excluded).

Requirements for different levels of Machinist at StandardAero :
Machinist (Apprentice)
  • Enrolled or willing to enroll in a machinist apprenticeship
  • Minimal experience required
Machinist II
  • Completed Level II and / or III of a machinist apprenticeship program
  • Minimum of 2 years manual machining experience
Machinist IV
  • Red Seal Machinist
  • Minimum of 6 years manual machining experience
