Fish Creek Nissan in Calgary, AB is seeking an Apprentice Automotive Technician (2nd Year) to join our dealership team. You will perform oil changes, tire services, and multi-point inspections, and diagnose issues using computerized tools under supervision.

A valid Canadian driver's license and basic shop experience are required. The role offers full-time hours, competitive pay ranging from $20 to $30 per hour, and opportunities to grow within the AutoCanada network.

• Traditional Apprenticeship or Motive Power grads welcomed.
• Oil change and tire experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil & filter changes.
• Sell lubrication, safety inspection, & related services.
• Perform complete multi-point inspection on vehicles and present findings to Service Advisor.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, & maintenance on vehicle systems.
• Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes and other items.
• Test and diagnose using computerized diagnostics & other devices to diagnose & isolate faults.
• Repair or replace parts & components including fuel system, brakes, steering & suspension, engine & drive train, emission control & exhaust, cooling & climate control, and electrical systems.

Your area of focus.

The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing oil changes, tire services, and complete multi-point inspections, presenting findings to the Service Advisor. They conduct diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle systems, including brakes, engines, and electrical components, using computerized tools to isolate faults. Candidates should have experience in oil changes and tire services, along with basic computer skills and shop experience. A valid Ontario driver's license and the ability to meet physical demands are also required.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Perform oil & filter change
• Sell lubrication, safety inspection, & related services
• Perform complete multi-point inspection on vehicles. Mark required items on list & present findings to Service Advisor
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, & maintenance
• Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, & other items
• Inspect motors in operation, road test, & test systems & components using computerized diagnostics & other devices to diagnose & isolate faults
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts & components including fuel system, brakes, steering & suspension, engine & drive train, emission control & exhaust, cooling & climate control, & electrical & electronic systems

• Shop / dealership experience preferredAbility to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time and ability to use power and hand-held equipment

Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this position is $20 – $30 Hourly — No bonus. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
