Job description

Role Overview

As an Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will embark on an exciting journey to develop your skills and knowledge in the aviation industry. This role is designed for enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will play a crucial role in supporting our aircraft maintenance team, ensuring our fleet remains at the pinnacle of safety and performance. Under supervision of the Senior Base Engineer or Base Engineer you will carry out repairs and line maintenance on Air Inuit’s fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out aircraft and base tasks, as they are assigned by an authorized signatory.
  • Maintain AMO facilities as directed.
  • Assist in routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of aircraft systems and components.
  • Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Work alongside seasoned engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in aviation technology and practices.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks in line with the Maintenance Department operational needs.
What Will Make You an Ideal Candidate
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer college diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Air Inuit Maintenance and policies is an asset.
  • General knowledge of Air Inuit's Fleet.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to varying weather conditions.
  • Eager to learn, team player, and a passion for aviation.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces and stand for long periods.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation

Salary and benefits are determined in accordance with the corporate policy. Entry hourly salary - $29.90

Working Conditions
  • When traveling to a northern base: accommodations, meals, work uniforms and travel between Montreal and work (La Grande or Kuujjuaq) are provided.
  • Alternating shift schedule: 07h00 - 17h06 / 16h54 - 03h00 based on 3 week on/off rotation.
