Job summary

Astek Canada is expanding its Applied AI team to accelerate Generative AI adoption for a major client. You will design, prototype, and integrate high-impact AI solutions that boost productivity, automation, and decision-making at scale.

Join a collaborative team working with business and technology stakeholders to develop robust AI assistants, RAG workflows, and enterprise integrations. Hybrid work with offices in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience.
• 1–3 years building Generative AI apps, assistants, or automation.
• Strong Python and API development skills.
• Hands-on with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, semantic search.
• Experience with AI agents and workflow orchestration.
• Familiarity with Azure or AWS environments.
• Understanding of Responsible AI, governance and security.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into AI solutions.

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

What we will accomplish together:

You will join a team dedicated to accelerating Generative AI adoption within a major organization. You will help design, prototype, and integrate high-impact AI solutions that improve productivity, automation, and decision-making.

Your mission (should you choose to accept it!):

Develop and implement robust, reusable Generative AI solutions that address business needs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Understanding business requirements and translating them into AI solutions
• Developing proofs of concept, prototypes, and reference applications
• Building AI assistants, copilots, and agentic workflows
• Implementing RAG solutions using vector databases and semantic search
• Developing APIs, integrations, and enterprise connectors
• Performing testing, evaluation, and performance optimization of AI solutions
• Collaborating with AI platform, security, and governance teams

Your profile:

• 3 to 5 years of software engineering experience
• 1 to 3 years of experience developing Generative AI applications, assistants, or intelligent automation solutions
• Strong Python and API development skills
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and semantic search
• Experience with AI agents and workflow orchestration
• Familiarity with Azure or AWS environments
• Understanding of Responsible AI, governance, and security practices
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
