Job description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare equipment & system proposals as required by Sales.
  • Create and propose concepts for the customer that align with market trends and promote the development of standard product lines.
  • Review customer-required safety and electrical specifications.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimations for proposals.
  • Secure OEM proposals from outside vendors as required.
  • Support outside selling activities.
  • Understand customer decision-making processes and criteria.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
  • Coordinate with all departments, the agent, and the customer to ensure quotes are available on time, complete, accurate, and of high quality.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within Mpac.
  • Represent Mpac with agents and customers as necessary to close orders, answer technical questions, and provide appropriate packaging solutions.
  • Provide input into and maintain databases (customer/market/competitor intelligence).

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Keep current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes related to packaging equipment system design and operation.
  • Support Project Managers during order execution.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • 3-5 years’ experience in quoting or engineering of highly engineered capital equipment.
  • Degree or Technical Education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with focus on Robotics, Automation, and controls.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a technical understanding of Mpac products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly customer-focused.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD).

Physical Demands

  • Most work is performed in an office environment with occasional trips to the assembly floor and warehouse.
  • Hearing acuity required for safety reasons on the assembly floor.
  • Exposure to high noise levels from machines during visits.
  • Most work is done while sitting.
  • Work involves prolonged computer use.

Hardware & Software Requirements

  • One desktop computer, keyboard, 2 monitors, mouse, 3D mouse.
  • Relevant software includes AutoCAD, SmarTeam, Dayforce, ShareFile.
  • Adherence to company computer policies is required.

Working Conditions & Environment

  • This position may require long hours to meet deadlines.
  • Proper grooming and attire according to Mpac standards are mandatory.
  • Adherence to dress code policy is mandatory.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
