Job description

Position Summary:

As a core member of our projects, our Application Engineer works closely with Project Managers, field technicians, sales teams, clients, and vendors. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing programs, completing assignments to high customer satisfaction, and within budgetary guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project turnover meetings with Project Managers and sales to gather all necessary information for engineering.
  • Design and develop panel layouts, network layouts, wiring diagrams according to customer and company standards using Ainsworth engineering tools.
  • Select materials such as DDC modules, field sensing/control devices, dampers, and valves to meet project requirements, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Submit material order forms with detailed dates to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Develop project commissioning checklists for startup, checkout, and commissioning.
  • Ensure high project management and customer satisfaction, scope and specification compliance, and adherence to budget.
  • Utilize Ainsworth or customer standard programs for project design, aiming to use standard libraries and modify as needed.
  • Perform functional tests on all programming to ensure compliance with sequences of operation and system performance standards.
  • Maintain accessibility and communicate effectively with field technicians, sales, employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure timely issuance of as-built and close-out documents.
  • Maintain knowledge of Delta hardware, software, tools, and applications.
  • Advise owners and contractors on control strategies and options.
  • Seek resources for issues beyond personal expertise.
  • Participate actively in team and engineering meetings, contribute ideas, and provide feedback constructively.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve processes and meet company goals.
  • Build and maintain positive team relationships, sharing experience and feedback.

Main Skills Required:

  • Degree in engineering or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills for supporting teams and business goals.
  • Good understanding of HVAC Control Systems and BAS components.
  • Knowledge of Building Technology offerings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, technical, and financial skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and energy tools.
  • Leadership qualities and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with consultants, contractors, and project coordination.
  • Knowledge of building, electrical, mechanical codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
  • Sense of urgency and task prioritization skills.

The annual gross salary range is $50,000 - $75,000. This includes potential bonuses, benefits, and incentives based on performance and qualifications.
