This Position reports to :

Engineering Manager

Your Role : Own the Challenge
  • Provide ABB's sales network with high-level scientific and technical application support, market knowledge, and customer needs understanding to maximize ABB's sales.
  • Offer scientific and technical support prior to system shipment, conduct tests and feasibility studies, develop initial calibrations, and support factory acceptance testing when applicable.
  • Provide scientific and technical support after system shipment (after-sales), during installation, project kickoff meetings, calibration, validation, and on-site acceptance testing.
  • Work closely with regional and industry development managers, the technical sales support team, technical support representatives, and the sales network to qualify sales opportunities and define system configurations for requested applications.
  • Support sales and marketing activities when needed, such as participating in exhibitions and conferences, and training the sales force.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing and communication materials (application notes, technical datasheets, brochures...).
  • Address advanced R&D knowledge needs from an application perspective, particularly in the context of new product development.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing analyzer performance and production cell productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with production engineering teams to update testing procedures.
  • Increase technology knowledge within technical teams by delivering training sessions.
What it takes to run what runs the world
  • Master's or PhD in science (chemistry, physics).
  • Experience in spectroscopy.
  • Knowledge of chemometrics, FTIR, optics is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate and simplify scientific knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English (spoken and written); French is required. English is also required to regularly communicate with clients outside Quebec.
  • Interest and aptitude for direct customer interactions.
  • Proficiency in statistical data and spectral analysis.
  • Enjoys working in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
