Job summary

Respawn Entertainment is seeking a talented Gameplay Animator to join the Apex Legends Animation team. You will help establish immersive experiences through remarkable animations and gameplay, working with designers, engineers, and artists to deliver responsive, player-centered action.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in game development, strong animation craft, and experience with motion capture editing. This role supports a collaborative studio culture with focus on quality and player delight.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional game development experience.
• Strong understanding of video game animation development.
• Proficiency in a 3D animation package such as Autodesk Maya.
• Experience creating behaviors and full body/bipedal animations with some first person animation knowledge.
• Understanding of motion capture editing (re-posing, re-timing).

Responsibilities

• Deliver powerful and believable animation performances from blocking to final polish for first and third person gameplay.
• Develop and apply craft from conceptualization through realization (blocking, mocap collaboration, key-framing, motion editing, in-game implementation).
• Collaborate with designers and other disciplines to ensure responsive, immersive gameplay.
• Maintain communication across production, design, art, audio, VFX throughout your areas of responsibility.
• Be proactive in evolving workflow and player experience for Apex Legends.
