Overview

Responsibilities
  • Create animated characters and objects that meet required direction.
  • Animate both primary and secondary characters by utilizing traditional methods and computer graphics systems to create desired performance of digital characters within a shot.
  • Emphasize conveying emotion through a combination of body language and facial expressions/dialog as required by each specific project.
  • Accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines.
  • Participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
  • Interact with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
  • Decipher and follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/notes, and feedback.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine various design solutions.
  • Animate multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult.
Qualifications
  • Possess a strong understanding of the principles of animation.
  • Knowledge of applicable software packages, including Maya, is required.
  • Background or experience in fine art, demonstrating a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of human and animal anatomy, as well as life drawing skills, are desirable.
  • Most desired: 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate; however, a minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
Salary Information
  • The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $26.44 to $36.32/hr.
  • For an Intermediate position, the salary is $32.02 to $43.99/hr.
  • Benefits are per company policy, which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.
  • The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location of the position.
