Job summary

Reel FX Animation, based in Montreal, is seeking an Animator to contribute to our studio productions. Working under the Animation Supervisor, you will create performances for characters and objects based on storyboards and references.

This role requires at least one year of animation experience, a solid grasp of character animation and lip-sync, and proficiency with Maya. You will join a collaborative team and may be asked to support other production needs.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in fine arts or animation or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience as an Animator.
• Solid understanding of character animation and lip-sync.
• Strong ability to pose characters and convey performance.
• Proficient with Maya or an equivalent program.
• Able to communicate creative and technical ideas.

We’re excited to be back in our Montreal studio Tuesday thru Thursday… come join us! Under the direction of the Animation Supervisor this position is responsible for creating performance for characters and objects based on storyboards and other visual references.

Responsibilities

• Create key frame animation as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Create lip-sync, facial, and body character animation as well as prop animation.
• Remain current and up-to-date in animation techniques.
• Consistently meet production goals as assigned by Associate Production Manager/Production Manager team.
• Willing to step in as a character specialist as needed per the production.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as an Animator (or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of character animation, and lip-synching
• Good understanding of strong character posing and performance
• Proficient with Maya and or equivalent program
