Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Laval, QC is hiring an Animal Care Clerk to support the Toxicology team. You ensure the wellbeing of laboratory animals and the integrity of pre-clinical studies. Training will be provided for the rest of the requirements.

Salary is $19.25/hr with premiums for evenings, weekends, overtime and holidays. The role offers a permanent position of 37.5 hours weekly and potential career progression to an Animal Health Technician with pay raises.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (DES) or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience
• AEC in Animal Care is an asset
• Physically able to lift up to 20kg and move around labs
• Able to follow strict procedures and work with animals
• Team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn in a lab environment

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean living environments for laboratory animals according to high welfare standards
• Assist Animal Health Technicians in daily tasks
• Handle animals with care
• Participate in physical/social activities of the animals
