Job Summary

Animal Care Technician – On-site training

As an Animal Care Technician for our Toxicology team at our Sherbrooke (QC) site, you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of the animals and the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the animals' living environment according to the highest standards of welfare.
  • Assist technicians in their daily tasks.
  • Handle animals.
  • Participate in physical and social activities of the animals.
Qualifications (Training provided for other skills):
  • Able to follow precise instructions.
  • Capable of physical work (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
  • Understanding of written English.
  • Passionate about animals.
  • High School Diploma (DES) required; AEP in Animal Care is an asset.

Please note: Upon hiring, an annual tuberculosis test at the company's expense is required.

Job Specifics:
  • Location: 1580 Ida Métivier, Sherbrooke (QC), J1E 0B5.
  • Transportation: Accessible via public transit, with free parking and an electric vehicle charging station.
  • Salary: Starting at $19.00/hour. Higher starting levels and salaries are possible with relevant research experience.
  • Schedule: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours/week). Overtime, weekend rotation, and bonus ($2.75/hour) may apply.
