KCM Hope Farms , located in Keene, are seeking a dedicated, diligent, and detail-oriented Animal Care Attendant to join our team for our day care shift team.

KCM Hope Farms, is seeking a FULL TIME, Day Care Shift Team member to join their team.

Job Description:

This role involves caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese.

The day shift attendants conduct routine checks, cleaning, and ensure all animals are safe, comfortable, and secure. The health and well‑being of our animals are our top priority; previous hands‑on animal care experience is required*.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evening care for domestic and farm animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and enrichment
  • Facilitate grooming and administer oral or topical medications as directed
  • Follow established protocols for animal handling, feeding, and sanitation
  • Monitor animal behavior and health; promptly report any abnormalities or concerns to the supervisor
  • Maintain accurate records of animal observations, feedings, and treatments
  • Assist with handling and restraint of animals during procedures or examinations
  • Perform feeding and closing routines for kennels, barns, and pastures
  • Ensure all animal areas are clean, organized, and secure before the end of shift
  • Adhere to all safety and biosecurity guidelines to protect both animals and staff
Additional Animal Care Skills

Knowledge of—or willingness to learn—the following is an asset:

  • Cold hosing and basic wound care
  • Application of poultices and bandages
  • Foot soaking and basic first aid for farm animals
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with animals (domestic and/or farm animals)
  • Diligent, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Able to follow directions and take initiative when needed
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to follow established care protocols and safety procedures
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as cleaning stalls, pens, and kennels

Schedule
  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • Weekend and holiday availability may be required
