A regional healthcare provider in Canada is looking for a detail-oriented Anesthesia Assistant to support Anesthesiologists in patient preparation, anesthesia procedures, and recovery. The position requires proficiency in airway management and knowledge of anesthesia equipment. The ideal candidate will excel at monitoring vital signs and assisting during surgical procedures. This full-time role promotes work-life balance with shifts primarily on Tuesdays to Thursdays.
Joining us at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) you’ll have a crucial role in assisting Anesthesiologists with patient preparation, anesthesia induction, maintenance, and recovery.
This position may be eligible for relocation allowance.
We are seeking a detailed-oriented, team-focused Anesthesia Assistant (AA) with expertise in anestheisa procedures and patient care to join the KBRH surgical team. This position involves preparing, testing, and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies, as well as performing a range of invasive and non-invasive procedures. The AA will assist with airway management, IV medication administration, and patient monitoring during surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, assisting with sedation and anesthesia in various settings, and supporting anesthesia providers in a variety of procedures such as fiber-optic intubation and pacemaker support. The role requires a strong understanding of anesthesia equipment, patient care, and emergency response protocols. Additionally, the position demands proficiency in monitoring vital signs, ensuring the safe and efficient management of patients through all stages of anesthesia. Days of work are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; 09:30 to 17:30 hours.
A full-service, acute-care hospital offering comprehensive medical services to residents and visitors of the Trail, Kootenay and Boundary areas. The hospital serves a large geographic region, which includes small communities and remote areas, making it an essential healthcare hub for the region. Surgical services include General, Orthopedic, OB/Gyn, ENT, Plastics, Urology and Ophthalmology. Labour Analgesia service provides for approximately 300 deliveries per year, an epidural rate of 15%. Anesthesia Consultation Clinic and Acute Pain Management in place.
