Android Developer – Kotlin, Jetpack Compose & Android Studio

Location: Hybrid

Schedule: 3 days onsite per week (Tuesday-Thursday)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer with 6-8 years of mobile application development experience to design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Android Studio, Kotlin, and Jetpack Compose and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly mobile solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Android development best practices.
• Build modern user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to define and deliver new features.
• Integrate Android applications with RESTful APIs and external data sources.
• Perform unit testing and ensure application reliability, usability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
• Utilize Git, Jira, and Confluence for source control and project management.
• Support Agile development processes and CI/CD practices.

Required Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience in Android application development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Android Studio.
• Experience building UI components using Jetpack Compose.
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, architecture patterns, and mobile development best practices.
• Experience consuming and integrating RESTful web services and APIs.
• Knowledge of threading, offline storage, and application performance optimization.
• Experience with Git-based version control systems.
• Familiarity with Android testing frameworks and unit testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java-based Android development.
• Knowledge of push notifications and cloud messaging services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to SQLite, Spring Framework, React, or related technologies.
• Experience with usability testing and implementing user experience improvements.
• Knowledge of native Android development concepts, including C/C++ and JNI, is a plus.
