Job description

Role and Facility Information

Full-time positions for Anatomic Pathologists at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre are available within the integrated practice of Dr. C.J. Coady Associates. ARHCC is a regional referral hospital and cancer centre providing specialized surgical, medical and oncology programs and is affiliated with the University of British Columbia as a teaching hospital. ARHCC has 300 beds, including a 10 bed ICU, and provides services to a catchment population of approximately 350,000. We receive a wide range of surgical pathology specimens. Start date in 2025 is flexible.

The successful candidate will join a growing team of 2 to 3 highly experienced anatomic pathologists providing surgical pathology services. Applicants should possess strong general surgical pathology skills. Fellowship training or equivalent expertise in GI, Breast, Gynecological and/or Dermatopathology would be an asset, but other surgical pathology subspecialties will also be considered. The candidate should have experience with grossing of specimens, which will be reduced as currently posted PA positions are filled.

Applicants should have Royal College (RCPSC) certification in Anatomic Pathology and be fully licensed or be eligible for licensure with the B.C. College of Physicians and Surgeons. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia Bylaws were recently amended (and will come into force on July 7, 2025) to provide eligibility for licensure in the full - specialty classes to physicians who have completed accredited postgraduate training in the US and obtained certification in the US with the American Board of Medical Specialties. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in Canada without restriction.

The successful candidate will be eligible for academic appointment as clinical faculty through the University of British Columbia.

Dr. C.J. Coady Associates is a large partnership of laboratory physicians, which has been providing a range of consulting diagnostic laboratory services for over 60 years and currently provides services to 12 hospitals in the Fraser Health Authority.

The city of Abbotsford is located within the Fraser Valley, surrounded by the Coastal Mountains, and is close to White Rock, Fort Langley and Vancouver. It offers a comfortable west coast climate, extensive recreational facilities, and easy access to fresh water and ocean beaches, US border crossings, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and skiing.
