Global Excel Management Inc. is seeking an Analytics Developer I to transform complex data into actionable insights and visualizations.

You’ll collaborate with business leaders, data engineers, and analytics teams to gather requirements, develop reports, and deliver high-quality dashboards. The role involves building interactive dashboards, performing ad-hoc analyses, and supporting end-users to foster self-service analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• 1-2 years experience as BI Developer or similar in data visualization and reporting.
• PowerBI and/or Cognos experience; interactive dashboards, reports, visualizations.
• Basic SQL skills and familiarity with Snowflake data modeling.
• Understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and data integration.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data.

As a n Analytics Developer I , you will play a key role in transforming complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including business leaders, data engineers, and data analytics team members, to gather requirements, develop reports, and deliver high-quality visualizations. Your contributions will be crucial in generating valuable insights that drive business performance and strategic decisions.

What does your typical day look like?

• Work with business stakeholders to capture their reporting and analytical needs;
• Create effective data visualizations using tools such as PowerBI and Cognos;
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics models;
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions;
• Respond to stakeholder requests for data analysis and provide recommendations;
• Identify and resolve data issues that may impact analyses;
• Collect user feedback to improve reports and dashboards;
• Enhance the user experience and usability of the BI system;
• Apply user-centric design principles to develop intuitive and appealing reports and dashboards;
• Help in training and supporting end-users to foster self-service analytics and reporting;
• Analyze large datasets from various sources;
• Utilize statistical and analytical methods to uncover trends and insights;
• Employ data visualization tools to effectively present data;
• Communicate findings to stakeholders clearly and concisely;
• Prepare and deliver reports and presentations that highlight data-driven insights;
• Adjust data presentation for different audience levels to ensure clarity and actionability;
• Work with data engineers to maintain data quality and consistency;
• Seek opportunities for data enhancement;
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate advanced analytics into the BI platform;
• Assist in developing and implementing predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions;
• Keep abreast of the latest BI tools and methodologies;
• Suggest innovative approaches to improve data visualization capabilities.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field;
• Some experience (1-2 years) as a BI Developer or in a similar role, focusing on data visualization and reporting;
• Proficiency in PowerBI and/or Cognos, with experience in developing interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations;
• Basic SQL skills and familiarity with data modeling using platforms like Snowflake;
• Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration;
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to interpret data and identify trends;
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex information to a variety of audiences;
• Independent and team-oriented work style, with a strong detail focus and commitment to quality.
