Job description

The Financial Project Analyst has for objective to track and report on the profitability of projects. This role involves collaboration with project teams, clients and internal departments to ensure the financial performance and high quality of clinical research project management services.

This role will be perfect for you if:

RESPONSABILITIES

More specifically, the Project Financial Analyst must:

Project and budget set-up

• Review and understand the client agreements and convert them into the Innovaderm internal cost structure
• Create and configure projects in the project management and financial systems
• Prepare and upload the project budget and related amendments impacting scope and/or timeline in the project management tool
• Participate in the identification and the price assessment of the out-of-scope services.

Revenue / Expenses recognition and project reconciliation

As per month end schedule:

• Ensure revenue and expenses are recognized based on Canadian GAAP and contractual requirements (including creation of journal entries for accruals and project allocation)
• Review actual project revenues and costs compared to budget and forecast, identifying variances and their causes
• Prepare and present detailed project financial reports, including but not limited to; profit and loss statement, financial projections (ETC and accrual report), invoicing status for internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of projects balance sheet accounts
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records of project data

Invoice management

• Review project invoicing and provide expertise as needed
• At the end of the study, ensure all invoices were produced and paid
• Act as the main point of contact for clients on any questions related to the invoicing

Collaboration with project team

• Work closely with project managers to understand project requirements and financial implications
• Provide financial guidance and support to project teams, helping them manage budgets and control costs
• Facilitate regular financial review meetings with project managers and clients to discuss budget status, invoicing and other financial items

Internal presentations and special projects

• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Contribute to the development and implementation of improved financial processes and tools

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting of related field
• CPA certification, an asset

Experience

• minimum of 4 years of experience in project accounting

RESPONSABILITÉS

Plus précisément, l'Analyste financier(ère) de projets doit :

Mise en place des projets et des budgets

• Examiner et comprendre les ententes conclues avec les clients et les convertir dans la structure interne des coûts d'Innovaderm.
• Créer et configurer les projets dans les systèmes de gestion de projets et les systèmes financiers.
• Préparer et intégrer le budget du projet ainsi que les modifications connexes ayant une incidence sur la portée ou l'échéancier dans l'outil de gestion de projets.
• Participer à l'identification et à l'évaluation des coûts des services hors mandat.

Comptabilisation des revenus et des dépenses et rapprochement des projets

Selon l'échéancier de clôture mensuelle :

• S'assurer que les revenus et les dépenses sont comptabilisés conformément aux PCGR canadiens et aux exigences contractuelles, y compris la préparation des écritures de journal liées aux régularisations et aux répartitions par projet.
• Examiner les revenus et les coûts réels des projets par rapport au budget et aux prévisions, en identifiant les écarts et leurs causes.
• Préparer et présenter des rapports financiers détaillés sur les projets, incluant notamment l'état des résultats, les projections financières (ETC et rapports de régularisation) ainsi que le statut de la facturation, à l'intention des parties prenantes internes et externes.
• Assurer le suivi et l'exactitude des comptes de bilan associés aux projets.
• Maintenir des dossiers financiers précis, complets et bien organisés concernant les données des projets.

Gestion de la facturation

• Réviser la facturation des projets et fournir son expertise au besoin.
• À la fin de chaque étude, s'assurer que toutes les factures ont été émises et payées.
