You’re RGA ready

RGA is a purpose-driven organization working to solve today’s challenges through innovation and collaboration. A Fortune 200 Company and listed among its World's Most Admired Companies, we’re the only global reinsurance company to focus primarily on life- and health-related solutions. Join our multinational team of intelligent, motivated, and collaborative people, and help us make financial protection accessible to all.

Are you wondering what your actuarial math classes are for? Want to apply a contagion factor to a joint policy in a real business setting? Do you want to determine the credibility of results of a real mortality study? Do you like a challenge?

Reporting to the AVP, you will work on the underwriting modeling functions for RGA’s Canada operations. As part of a creative and dynamic team, you will be exposed to a wide variety of insurance products and will be asked to contribute to various other areas that will benefit from your creative and analytical mind.

Responsibilities

  • Support the activities of actuarial pricing and business development

  • Pricing for new reinsurance business and special quotes (life insurance, critical illness insurance and other living benefits, credit insurance etc.)

  • Participate in technical reviews

  • Analyze product profitability

  • Quarterly follow up of certain risks

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Actuarial studies in progress

  • Successful completion of at least one exam from the Society of Actuaries and/or actively progressing in a CIA University Accreditation Program

  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Experience in the insurance industry, an asset

  • Knowledge of the AXIS software, an asset

  • Bilingual, French and English, both written and spoken. (English required due to frequent communications with unilingual anglophone clients across Canada, work product needing to be rendered to them in English, and frequent communications with unilingual anglophone employees internationally within the group of companies).

Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal relations skills

  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Sense of organization, detailed-oriented with ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly

  • Highly proficient in computer software and problem-solving skills

  • Results oriented and ability to concentrate on meeting deadlines

  • Good team spirit

  • Ability to work on several files simultaneously and/or with tight deadlines

What you can expect from RGA

  • Gain valuable knowledge from and experience with diverse, caring colleagues around the world.

  • Enjoy a respectful, welcoming environment that fosters individuality and encourages pioneering thought.

  • Join the bright and creative minds of RGA, and experience vast, endless career potential.
