Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in Toronto is seeking an Analyst in Corporate Finance to gain experience in restructurings, M&A, and financial advisory services. You will interact with clients and execute assignments under senior guidance, developing a solid foundation in deal execution.

You will build robust financial models, prepare valuations, and contribute to pitch materials and market research, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of investment banking at a financial analyst level REQUIRED (2 years preferred).
• Understanding or experience in distress/restructuring, capital raising & M&A.
• Bachelor’s degree with major in Business, Finance or Accounting; CFA designation preferred.
• Demonstrated quantitative, analytic and modeling skills.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products; Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Bloomberg proficiency.
• Understanding/experience with credit analysis is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills within a team and client interactions.

The Team

As an Analyst in the Investment Banking group, you will gain experience in restructurings, M&A, and financial advisory services. Furthermore, you will have exposure to a variety of products and have the chance to immediately interact with clients. It is expected that you will continue to take on more responsibilities as your transaction execution skills are refined.

• Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products Expertise in financial and computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg)


• Understanding/experience with credit analysis is a plus


• Strong interpersonal skills utilized within a team environment and in client interaction


• Strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail


• High level of integrity
