Job description

InvestX launched in 2014 and is a late-stage venture fund currently investing out of Fund 5. With over US$700 million in investments and 35+ portfolio companies including Palantir, SpaceX, Airbnb, SoFi, Spotify, DocuSign, leading AI companies, and many more. We partner with leading North American wealth management firms and family office clients to offer access to multi-position and single purpose funds.

InvestX is backed by leading financial institutions Jefferies, Virtu Financial, and Canaccord Genuity and has been featured in CNBC, Forbes, Bloomberg, U.S. News, Business Insider, Reuters, The Globe and Mail, and many other publications.

The Role

InvestX is seeking a highly analytical, intellectually curious, and execution-focused Analyst, Portfolio Analytics & Investments to join our Vancouver team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who wants direct exposure to private markets, venture capital, portfolio management, and investment operations within a fast-growing alternative investment firm. You will sit at the intersection of investing, valuation, fund operations, and emerging technology — helping monitor and analyze a portfolio of some of the most innovative private companies in the world.

Roughly two-thirds of the role will focus on portfolio analytics, valuation support, NAV reporting, and investor reporting across InvestX funds and SPVs. The remaining portion of your time will support the investment team with research, screening, and due diligence on new late-stage growth investment opportunities.

You will work closely with senior leadership, the investment team, fund administrators, auditors, and compliance partners, gaining exposure rarely available at the Analyst level.

This role is ideal for someone coming from investment banking, venture capital, private equity, fund administration, valuation advisory, audit, or equity research who wants to deepen their exposure to private markets while operating in a highly entrepreneurial and AI-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Analytics & Fund Operations:

  • Support quarterly valuation processes across InvestX funds and SPVs, including fair value assessments and supporting documentation under ASC 820 / IFRS 13.
  • Prepare and maintain quarterly NAV calculations, including capital activity reconciliations, fee calculations, expenses, and unrealized gains/losses.
  • Calculate and maintain key fund performance metrics including IRR, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, and PME benchmarking.
  • Produce investor reporting materials, portfolio updates, capital account statements, and ad-hoc LP requests.
  • Monitor portfolio company developments including financing rounds, secondary market activity, operating updates, and valuation-impacting events.
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, legal counsel, and compliance teams to support quarterly close, annual audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support the investment team in screening and evaluating prospective late-stage growth investments.
  • Conduct company, market, sector, and competitive landscape research.
  • Build and maintain financial models including DCF, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses.
  • Assist in preparing investment committee materials and internal research memoranda.
  • Contribute to thematic research across venture capital, AI, fintech, infrastructure, and broader growth equity markets.

AI & Workflow Innovation:

  • InvestX operates with an AI-first mindset across research, reporting, and operational workflows. We are looking for someone who views AI as a core productivity and analytical tool, not simply a novelty.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting, diligence, and data workflows.
  • Use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI platforms to accelerate research, summarization, document analysis, and operational efficiency.
  • Help improve internal processes through prompt engineering, workflow design, automation tools, and AI-assisted research systems.
  • Contribute to building scalable, modern infrastructure across portfolio analytics and investment operations.
  • Candidates who can demonstrate practical examples of leveraging AI to improve speed, consistency, or analytical depth will stand out.
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, fund administration, valuation advisory, audit, equity research, or related financial services environments.
  • Strong understanding of private company valuation methodologies including DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and recent financing rounds.
  • Familiarity with fund performance metrics including IRR, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, and PME.
  • Exposure to fund structures including LPs, SPVs, feeder funds, capital calls, and distribution mechanics preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience with fund administration platforms such as Allvue, Investran, or eFront is considered an asset.
  • CFA, CPA, CIPM, or progress toward designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance precision, speed, and sound judgment.
  • Passion for continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Eligibility to travel between the US and Canada as needed.
  • A Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is required for this position.
Salary & Benefits
  • Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience,
  • location, and qualifications for the role.
  • 2026 range is $80,000 - $95,000 CAD plus incentive plan and equity.

InvestX welcomes applications from all qualified candidates, including women, persons with disabilities, aboriginal peoples, indigenous peoples, visible minorities, race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
