Job summary

Cineplex Media is seeking an Analyst, Media Research & Insights in Toronto for a hybrid role (3 days in the office weekly) at 1303 Yonge Street. You will support the Sales team by extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data to demonstrate the value of Cineplex Media assets, creating dashboards, reports, and presentations.

You will work with large datasets, conduct brand lift studies, and maintain research databases.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in research/analytics or related fields.
• Experience with market research methods and data analysis techniques.
• Experience with SQL, Power BI and large datasets.
• Familiarity with GIS or spatial analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data from syndicated and internal sources to develop demographic and audience insights.
• Prepare research presentations to support media proposals and communicate findings.
• Develop media asset recommendations based on target audience and trade area.
• Conduct proximity analyses to identify media locations relative to client locations.
• Produce maps/visualizations using spatial analysis tools for media planning.
• Support analytics projects with dashboards and reporting tools.
• Extract, transform, and analyze data from data warehouses and other sources.
• Support brand lift studies, including survey setup and reporting.
• Maintain research databases and tracking systems.
• Assist with ongoing research initiatives and special projects.
• Monitor data quality and consistency through validation activities.

Job description

What you will do: The Analyst, Media Research & Insights supports the Sales team by extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data to demonstrate the effectiveness and value of Cineplex Media assets. The role transforms data from multiple sources into actionable insights, dashboards, reports, and presentations that support Media sales strategies and business objectives. The Analyst also assists with brand lift studies, maintains research databases, and monitors data quality and consistency. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets. This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office per week). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data by accessing all syndicated research database, industry studies, and internal sources to develop demographic, audience, and product usage insights to demonstrate the effectiveness of Cineplex Media assets
• Prepare compelling research presentations to rationalize media proposals and communicate key findings
• Develop media asset recommendations based on client target audience and trade area analysis
• Conduct proximity analyses to identify relevant media locations relative to client locations or points of interests
• Produce maps and visualizations using spatial analysis tools to support media planning and sales proposals
• Support advanced data analytics projects by: Developing dashboards and reporting tools using business intelligence platforms and programming languages
• Extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from data warehouse environments and other data sources
• Support brand lift studies, including survey setup, programming, and reporting
• Maintain and update research databases, tracking systems, and presentations
• Assist with ongoing research initiatives and special projects
• Monitor data quality and consistency through regular review, validation, and maintenance activities

What You Will Need

• Post-Secondary education in research, analytics, mathematics, statistics, social science, data science, or other relative fields
• Certification in market research, data analytics, or data science is preferred
• Certification or training in spatial analysis or geographic information systems (GIS) is preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in market research, data analytics, or a related field
• Knowledge of market research methodologies and data analysis techniques
• Experience using SQL, Power BI for data extraction and analysis with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify meaningful insights
• Experience using Python or other programming languages for data analysis and advanced data analytics is preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate findings through reports, presentations, and visualizations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Familiarity with syndicated research databases such as Vividata
• Experience with business intelligence, data visualization, or spatial analysis tools is an asset
• Bilingual in English/French is an asset
