Job summary

SGS in Mississauga is seeking an Analyst Level 2 - Research and Development (LCMS) to perform routine and complex analytical testing of pharmaceutical finished products or raw materials, and to support method transfer and verification within a cGMP framework.

The role requires a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry and 3+ years of relevant experience, with hands-on use of LCMS/LC-MS/ICP, and strong communication and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or MSc in Chemistry or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in analytical testing roles.
• Experience with LCMS, LC-MS and ICP instrumentation.
• Strong communication, teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and plan daily work to meet deadlines.
• Maintain equipment; perform calibrations and qualifications.
• Prepare study protocols, reports and SOPs with limited supervision.
• Conduct routine and complex testing of pharma products and materials.
• Prepare and standardize test, standard and volumetric solutions.
• Perform testing per SOPs, Deviations, Change Control and cGMP.
• Ensure complete work order docs and entry into LIMS/CA before QA review.
• Prepare and assist with Work Forms per test methods.
• Record findings in standardized formats; maintain notebooks.
• Execute method verifications, validations, transfers per protocols.
• Report testing failures to the Department Manager; assist investigations.
• Assist in resolving routine and non-routine technical problems.

Analyst Level 2 - Research and Development (LCMS)

• Full-time
• Compensation: CAD 30 - CAD 34 - hourly

This position is responsible for performing routine and complex analytical testing and analyses of pharmaceutical finished products or raw materials, method transfer and verification.

• Prioritize, schedule and plan daily work in order to maintain efficient workflow to assure completion of scheduled tasks and to meet established due dates.
• Ensure that equipment is maintained in good order, perform calibrations and qualifications as required.
• With limited supervision, prepare study protocols, reports, forms and SOP’s.
• Perform routine and more complex analysis/testing of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceuticalfinished products and raw materials.
• Prepare and standardize Test solutions, Standard solutions and Volumetric solutions.
• Execute and perform testing as per methods, following the company’s Standard Operating Procedures, Deviations and Change Control programs and cGMP guidelines.
• Ensure that work order documentation is complete in every aspect and all results are entered into the electronic Laboratory Information System or the Client’s Certificate of Analysis before submission to the QA reviewer.
• Prepare and assist in preparation of Work Forms as per test methods.
• Record findings in standardized format, keeping all records and analyst notebook in good order.
• Ability to execute method verifications, validations, transfers based on signed protocols.
• In case of testing failure, immediately report to the Department Manager before proceeding any further with the test. Assist in the failure investigations as instructed. Do not discard any solutions or glassware that was used during testing.
• Assist in the resolution of routine, as well as non-routine technical problems.

• Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. Chemistry or equivalent
• Experience: over 3 years with demonstrated ability to complete more complex role/duties
• Experience with using instrumentation such asLCMS, LC-MS, ICP
• Hand/Eye coordination, ability to stand out, think outside the box.
• Able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others & independently.
• Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.

Salary Range:$30.00 to $34.00/Hour

• 80% coverage Health, Dental and Vision
• Paid time off
