Job summary

Qualifications

Analyst, Data Strategy

As a Data Strategy Analyst, you will report to the Director, Data Strategy and Product Assurance and work closely with the Manager of Data Strategy, playing a crucial role in supporting the organization’s data strategy and governance initiatives. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will gather data requirements, assist in developing and implementing comprehensive data strategies, and ensure the alignment of data usage with business goals.

You will leverage your data analytics expertise to help maintain data roadmaps, build process data flows, manage project management tools, support certification of products based on governance standards and help execute overall data strategy. This position will also work in collaboration with the delivery team, and product managers to ensure the analytics program is enabling the overall data strategy.

This role is based in our temporary location of 20 York Mills Rd, then the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Toronto Corporate Office. This role involves interactions with both internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support the manager in implementing relevant data governance policies and work closely with product owners to ensure data products are certified for use.
  • Assist in maintaining the data roadmap, ensuring alignment of data usage with evolving business strategies, emerging technologies, and data sources.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with data stewards, product owners, and other key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and data stewardship.
  • Facilitation and maintenance of the ongoing data strategy and roadmap.
  • Support intake of new data products through stakeholder communication, maintenance of templates, and scheduling of oversight and governance meetings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and delivery teams to support the development and delivery of data products that provide value to the business.
  • Assist in strengthening the organization’s data foundation through the implementation of effective policies, standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work with the manager to create and maintain training materials, playbooks, and reference guides to promote consistent adoption of data governance practices across teams.
  • Provide ongoing support and training on product certification requirements.
  • Oversee implementation of data strategy.
  • Support the manager in tracking and reporting on budget utilization across data and analytics projects, highlighting key variances and potential risks.
  • Assist in preparing program level budget and spend summaries to inform planning and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with D&A teams to create initial cost and resource estimates for new project requests.
  • Program Budget and Performance Tracking.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in data management processes.
  • Communicate the value of data-driven decision making and foster a data-driven culture by promoting awareness and understanding of the importance of data.
  • Proactive research and promote use of data to enable FS strategy.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s in a relevant field (e.g. Data Management, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Informatics).
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and principles.
  • Experience managing data lifecycle.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, detect anomalies, and translate complex data sets into actionable insights and strategies.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies such as informatica.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Applied experience in data governance and / or data management.
  • Knowledge of industry leading data governance practices.
  • Familiar with implementation and use various data governance tools and software.
  • Familiar with DMBOK principles.
  • Understand of complete data lifecycle and related data governance requirements.
  • Understanding of GDPR and related legislation.
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze and transform large datasets to understand trends and patterns.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms. MS Azure preferred (Microsoft Synapse, Azure Data factory, Azure Databricks, PowerBI).
  • Proficient in SQL or other programming languages.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Expert in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Working knowledge of project management tools such as Monday.com and Jira.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 CAD

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week at our temporary 20 York Mills Road, Toronto, Ontario location with travel, as needed, to our Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario
