Job Description

The Finance Department’s primary collective function is managing cash flow in and out of MSC Canada. Ultimately, reporting all numbers back to Geneva, the Finance Department collects and accurately inputs outstanding customer invoices while processing and paying our vendors in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The Business Partner Analyst will play a key role in supporting the organization’s financial planning and analysis activities. They will be responsible for the accuracy of cost provisioning, implementing process improvements as required, and for recurring and non‑recurring cost analysis that may be requested.

Level of Responsibility

Enhanced task, problem complexity and accountability to customer / business area. Enhanced autonomy in role, contributing significantly to team/organizational projects.

Key Tasks
  • Leverage financial acumen to synthesize and filter key information for the development of new reports highlighting trends, drivers, risks, and mitigation options within operational teams to support data‑driven decision making.
  • Create, adapt and/or modify management reports related to budgets, forecasting, or operations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting for the executive management team and other departments.
  • Analyze financial performance and develop forecast models.
  • Perform budget and cost analysis. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support implementation of initiatives.
  • Build and maintain models and business cases.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve and automate reporting tools and processes.
  • Maintain and update rates in platforms to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Assist in creating presentations and present to the executive management team.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close process.
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of financial planning and analysis experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
  • A team player able to work collaboratively across operational and functional teams as a valued business partner and effective independent team member.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparing company budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Must be able to analyze and understand the operations, as well as the key drivers of the business.
  • Excellent communication skills dealing with various levels/departments of the organization.
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, passionate self‑starter.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented and a great ability to work with numbers/data.
  • Ability to handle multiple requests with tight deadlines in a fast‑paced and high‑volume environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of advanced Excel functions and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Power BI an asset.
  • SAP knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience in transportation and logistic’s industry is an asset.
  • Bilingual: English and French verbal and written communication skills required.
