Job summary

Cadence Design Systems seeks an Analog CAD engineering specialist to support analog IP design and layout using Cadence tools (Virtuoso, Pegasus, Quantus). You will collaborate with circuit experts to develop high-speed interfaces for chips in cars, phones, and data centers, while contributing to tool AI and infrastructure.

You will work with the Analog CAD team across design capture, simulation, layout, and reliability analyses, driving efficiency and quality in the layout process.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in electrical engineering (BSEE or MSEE).
  • Experience in analog CAD support (design, layout).
  • Excellent understanding of circuit design and layout.
  • Knowledge of Cadence Composer Schematic and Virtuoso Layout is a plus.
  • Team-oriented, dynamic, autonomous, innovative.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tools and support to circuit implementation teams for analog IP.
  • Assist in design capture, pre- and post-layout simulations, optimization and layout.
  • Perform EM/IR, thermal analysis, reliability checks; explore 2.5D/3D IC aspects.
  • Collaborate with Cadence tool development and contribute to AI tool infrastructure.
  • Help improve design methodologies and tool effectiveness with the teams.

Job Description

As an Analog CAD engineering specialist, you will provide tools and support to the circuit implementation teams who build circuits used in cars, cell phones, data centers, etc. using the latest fabrication technologies: finfet, gate all‑around, and using the industry‑leading Cadence software tools, including AI.

Cadence Design Systems is seeking Analog CAD engineering specialists to support the growing analog design and custom layout team building IP using the Cadence design tools (Virtuoso, Pegasus, Quantus, etc.) to build high speed interfaces used in chips found in cars, cell phones, data centers, etc.

You will get the opportunity to collaborate with circuit implementation experts to contribute to the development of exciting chips, work with the best‑in‑class EDA tools and interact with the Cadence engineering team developing those tools and AI around them to improve those tools.

Analog CAD tasks

The Analog CAD team is a part of the Cadence Design IP development group responsible for supporting the design and layout teams as they design analog IP circuits. They support the design teams in the different steps of the design and layout flow: design capture, pre and post‑layout simulation, optimization, layout, EM/IR analysis, thermal analysis, reliability, 2.5D and 3D IC, etc.

We collaborate with the best‑in‑class tools developed by Cadence to improve them and tailor them to our needs. As in‑house customers of the Cadence software and representative users, we play a key role in driving, qualifying and developing the tools, as well as building the AI tools and infrastructure.

We build tools to help increase the efficiency of the teams and the quality of the circuits. We collaborate with the design teams to improve their flows and design methodologies.

Les tâches de l’équipe CAD analogique

L'équipe Analog CAD fait partie du groupe de développement de propriété intellectuelle (IP) de Cadence Design Systems. Elle accompagne les équipes de conception et de routage lors de la conception de circuits IP analogiques. Elle les soutient à chaque étape du processus : dessin des schématiques, simulations pré- et post-routage, optimisation, routage, analyses électromagnétiques/infrarouges, analyses thermiques, fiabilité, circuits intégrés 2.5D et 3D, etc.

Nous collaborons également avec Cadence pour améliorer et adapter ses logiciels de pointe à nos besoins. Puisque nous sommes des clients internes des logiciels Cadence et des utilisateurs représentatifs des clients de Cadence, nous jouons un important rôle pour définir, évaluer et développer les outils, ainsi que les outils et l’infrastructure d’intelligence artificielle (IA) qui les concernent.

Nous développons aussi des outils pour accroître l'efficacité des équipes et la qualité des circuits. Nous travaillons en étroite collaboration avec les équipes pour optimiser les méthodologies de conception.

Profil Recherché
  • Diplôme en génie électrique ou électronique (BSEE ou MSEE)
  • Expérience en support CAD analogique (design, layout)
  • Excellente compréhension de la conception de circuits et du layout
  • La connaissance des outils de conception Cadence Composer Schematic et Virtuoso Layout et des outils de simulation et de vérification physique est un atout

The annual salary range for British Columbia is 130,200 CAD to 241,800 CAD. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
